New city dates announced | Richmond Free Press

Mayor Levar M. Stoney has named four women and one man to take on key administrative roles.

Appointed people include Sherrill Hampton, a 25 year veteran of affordable housing and community development. She has been appointed director of the city’s Ministry of Housing and Community Development. Most recently, she worked on housing issues in Charlotte, NC

Dianne Wilmore, community service director on the North Avenue Branch of the Richmond Public Library, will also take over the city’s homeless association, according to the mayor.

The mayor made the appointments amid an increased focus in the city on developing affordable housing and dealing with post-pandemic homelessness.

He also made permanent the appointments for two women who were interim directors, Sheila D. White in the city’s Treasury Department and Mona Adkins-Easley in the city’s Department of Human Resources.

Ms. White, a chartered accountant who served as assistant finance director, was named interim director of the division in February after John B. Wack left the company in Henrico County Public Schools.

Ms. Adkins-Easley was appointed interim Human Resources Director in 2019.

The Mayor promoted Jason P. May after Dr. Jay Brown as interim director of the city’s budget and strategic planning office. Dr. Brown, who had been the city’s budget manager for seven years, goes to Hanover County to serve as deputy county administrator.

Mr. May has been the office’s deputy director since 2019.
