The women’s route has a strong first day in the UVA Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va .– The University of Richmond women’s athletics team put in a strong performance on day one of the Virginia Challenge at Lannigan Field.

Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.) Finished third in section three of the 400m with a time of 55.59 from track eight and finished sixth overall.

In the 100m dash, Uh, Aceius (Jacksonville, Florida) finished 17th overall in a time of 12.24, her third best mark of the season.

In section one the women’s 5 km, novice Elizabeth Stockman (Rocky Hill, Conn.) Crossed the finish line at 5:16:09 p.m. and finished eighth while a freshman Madison Trippett (Parkersburg, W.Va.) turned around in a time of 18: 01.15 and was 15th. Caroline Robelen (Glen Allen, Va.) Posted a time of 18: 26.28 and was 19th in Section 1.

Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.) Finished twelfth on her second attempt in the long jump with a distance of 5.84 m and a wind of + 1.1 m / s. Her full jump series: 5.82 m, 5.84 m and 5.77 m.

For the men’s cross-country team, Trey Burleson (Moseley, Va.) Finished first in section one of the 1500 m with a personal best of 3: 52.46.

In the first section of the men’s 5 km Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.) Joined in a time of 14: 28.17, just before his personal best of 14: 27.45 earlier this season to finish fifth Noah Yuro (Howell, NJ) posted a time of 14: 48.66 in the first section.

Noah Campbell (Montpelier, Va.) Turned a personal best of 30: 58.37 in the 10 km.

The spiders return to Charlottesville on Saturday for the final day of the Virginia Challenge.
