Girls from Alexandria and Minnewaska win home invitations, boys take second place

Moorhead finished second at 65 and Fergus Falls rounded out the field with 30.33. Alexandria had 10 first places in victory and 27 personal bests.

Senior Alexis Cole won the 100 meter hurdles in 17.97 and the 300 hurdles in 51.43. Giselle Jahner (1,600 meter run), Miah Wessel (200 shots, 28.38, 400 shots, 1: 04.54), Aleah Miller (3,200 meter run), Elena Fuglestad (long jump) and Hailie Kent (Triple jump) each added single wins.

Ailynn Fettig, Allie Randazzo, Wessel and Whitly Netland ran the seasons in the 4×200 when they won in 1: 56.92. The 4×400 group of Myah Kremer, Emma Ecker, Emma Reineke and Greta Oldenkamp also won in 4: 21.92.

The Alexandria boys finished second after a strong Moorhead team when the Spuds scored 96 points and the Cardinals finished with 62.5 points. Fergus Falls was third with 27.5.

Alexandria had 34 personal bests and five first places. Nolan Morical won the 100-meter run in 11.18 seconds and the long jump in 20-01. Jack Theien won the 400 Dash in 54.31 and Jacob Kleven won the 3,200 meter run in 10: 20.02. Zander Homelvig rounded out the Cardinals winners by winning the discus with a score of 131-07.

A talented girls ‘team from Minnewaska won their home invite against four other programs on Thursday with 175 points, while the Lakers boys’ team finished second with 83 points.

McKenzie Luetmer led in the 400-meter run with a 1:04:52 victory, a 1: 2: 3 result. The newcomer Izzy Bautista drove the 1,600 meter run and Kiearra Wilmes led a 1-2-3 Lakers finish in a time of 13: 49.63 in the 3,200.

Ava Chevalier won both the 100 and 300 hurdles, and Minnewaska won the 4×400 and 4×800 seasons. Stephanie Longman took the pole vault by clearing seven feet, and Kristen Glover (triple jump) and Metaya Jergenson (discus) rounded out the winners for Minnewaska.

In the boys’ category, Noah Danielson won the 800 meter run in 2: 25.71 and Maeson Tank won the 1,600 run (5: 25.48). The Lakers 4×400 and 4×800 seasons won, and Peyton Johnsrud (6-06) and Connor Johnsrud (44-02.25) led the jumps by winning the high jump and the triple jump, respectively.
