Play spoilers: Tigers plan first win at Richmond Hills homecoming

It’s region time.

The Bradwell Institute Tigers and Richmond Hill Wildcats will face each other in a region 2-6A matchup on Friday.

Both teams are looking for their first win of the season as the Wildcats stand 0-3 and the Tigers 0-2.

The Tigers returned to the field after missing three weeks due to a COVID shutdown by Liberty County’s school system and lost to Appling County 39-6 when they traveled to Baxley on September 17.

And after traveling to Warner Robins to face the Northside Eagles, the Wildcats fell 43-7 in a mistaken game last week.

But all that’s behind it, as those region games are the ones that have the playoff implications.

The regional opponents both struggled to get the ball this season.

Bradwell more than Richmond Hill as they only have eight on average in their two competitions.

The Wildcats hold an average of 13.6 points per game in their three games played this year.

The Tigers give an average of 40.5 points while the Wildcats give 32.6 points each.

“We are going into the second season with the regional schedule and we want to be consistent,” said Tiger’s head coach Deshon Brock. “In film studies we have seen many mistakes that we can correct. If we correct these things and find our way, we should be fine on Friday. We will succeed if we get a higher point on our regional schedule and reach our ultimate goal of making the playoffs this year. Execution is the word of the week. “

Six weeks after the end of the season, the Wildcats are hosting a game of the 2021 season.

Historically, the Tigers had bad luck against the Wildcats.

Bradwell is 0-9 against Richmond Hill at all times and will try to keep that from going into double digits on Friday.

This could be one reason the Wildcats have scheduled their home game against the Tigers this season.

Of course, the Tigers will try to play spoilers while overtaking the Wildcats in the first regional game of the season.

“Every time there’s a home game, you look at this one team and say it’s a dub,” said Brock. “In order for them to circle us as this team, we’re definitely trying to pamper or piss off. We go into the game and expect to compete and win. We have to be careful that they don’t schedule us to come home again. I’ll put it this way. “

The game starts on Friday at 7:30 am at Wildcat Stadium.
